Due to the new data protection law from May 2018, we need your consent to store the necessary data for processing your loan. Our form for this can be found here.
Bilderbuchkinos
The picture book cinema is a media package consisting of a picture book, the original images (the images from the book without the text) in the form of slides and/or as digital images on a DVD, and often a detailed methodological guidebook.
The picture book cinema offers an easily implementable event option for kindergartens, schools, and libraries. Unlike a conventional reading hour, the picture book cinema creates a special atmosphere.
This method is suitable for children aged 3 to 10 years and for group sizes of up to approximately 30 people (depending on the size of the room and the screen). Besides a darkened room with a screen and a slide projector or a PC with a projector, no special technical requirements are necessary for its implementation.
You can borrow the picture book cinemas from us for 4 weeks free of charge. Please reserve your desired picture book cinema in advance.
If you are interested, please contact our loan team. A list of the current picture book cinemas can be found in our OPAC as a preset search.
Escape-Game
The Hessian Specialist Office for Public Libraries offers two mobile escape games for loan, which can be easily implemented in your library. The condition is that there is a connection to the mobile network available in your library.
Both escape games are aimed at ages 10 and up and last approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the problem-solving skills of the players. They can serve as an addition, for example, to a games event in your library or as an offer for groups that have discovered your library as a place to stay. Each group should consist of no more than 3 to 6 players. According to reports from test libraries, it can be said that teens under 14 should be accompanied while solving the puzzles, while those over 14 do not need this support anymore. The game works best with age-mixed groups. Ideally, only 2 to 3 mobile devices such as tablets or smartphones should be used, so that players can work on different puzzle strands simultaneously.
If you would like to permanently include both games in your offerings, you are welcome to recreate them. Instructions can be found in the following task cards for "LibriSphere 4.0" and “Caught in the AI”. The material costs for both escape games can be kept under 20 euros. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the specialist office.
In the OPAC, please enter "Escape Game," and you will find the entries “LibriSphere 4.0” and “Caught in the AI.” Both can be borrowed from the specialist office.
You can find more mobile escape games developed with Janina Wiegand and other specialist offices, which can be recreated and used by all libraries, here: https://janinawiegand.de/neue-escape-games-fuer-bibliotheken/
Event-Set
The Hessian Specialist Office for Public Libraries offers an event set that allows photos to be combined with various backgrounds using a greenscreen app and printed on-site.
The event set includes:
- GreenScreen cloth: Ideal for creative photo and video recordings.
- iPad: For photo capture and editing with the corresponding app.
- Printer: Canon Selphy CP1500 for direct printing of images.
- Accessories: Charging cable, power adapter for the iPad, power cable for the printer, and an instruction manual.
- Transport: A blue postal shipping container plus an outer box for the safe transport of the entire set.
Use this set to have fun with digital technology, e.g., to enrich the “Open House Day” of your library, to place individuals on the cover of their favorite book or game, or to transport them to their favorite holiday destination. It is also beneficial for reading projects with children and adolescents, who may be more motivated to engage with texts and books through creative digital implementation. And for adults who have not yet ventured into digital matters.
You do not need a mobile network to use it; the printer creates its own Wi-Fi when powered on, which connects to the iPad.
Kamishibai
"Kamishibai" means "paper theater play" and is a special form of storytelling. With a Kamishibai stage and special picture cards, stories come to life—completely without technical equipment.
Offers from the specialist office:
- Kamishibai picture card sets: Available in A4 and A3 formats.
- Wooden frames: Available for loan in A4 and A3 formats.
Free borrowing: You can borrow the Kamishibai for 4 weeks free of charge. Please reserve in advance and contact our loan team. A list of the current picture card sets can be found in our OPAC.
